AboutYe Ole Fashioned

Ye Ole Fashioned has been a lowcountry staple since 1972, when Rod Lapin opened the West Ashley cafĂ©. Since, it has grown to six locations in the low country area, including the two Summerville stores owned by Lapin’s son, Todd. While each Ye Ole Fashioned puts their own twist on menus and interiors, their devotion to outstanding customer service and providing large portions, in a family friendly environment, holds true throughout every location.

What started as a small, neighborhood restaurant selling just hotdogs and ice cream, has now grown into a local institution with a wide assortment of menu items. Kids and adults alike will love the burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, and crinkle cut French fries at family dinners. For lunch, try their egg, tuna, or chicken salad sandwiches, or the giant chef salad! But, what Ye Ole is probably best known for, is their signature BLT sandwich – complete with 10 slices of bacon!about1

Of course, what everyone looks forward to when visiting Ye Ole Fashioned, is the multi award winning ice cream! With a selection of over 30 flavors, including the classics and fun seasonal options, there is always something for everyone. Their massive sundaes and famous banana splits are a must try – great for sharing on date night, or indulging solo! Ye Ole’s ice cream has won awards through many local publications, including holding the title for Charleston City Paper’s Best Ice Cream the last 12 years and Best Milkshake the last 3 years. The Post and Courier also named Ye Ole Fashioned as Charleston’s Best Family Friendly and Best Food Value. So, come in to treat yourself and see what all the fuss is about!
